Romance, clean, period; series, but stand alone read


I think this is my favorite of all of this series. I know some readers may fault Harry's strength as a character, but I loved it! I loved how he was brought to his knees, how Lord Damion plays a part, and Lady Sabrina. Loved all the staff, the mystery surrounding Lord Damion and Harry's creditors. 


Saving Harry, Harry's recovery, and his rebirth as a new 'man', able to overcome his weaknesses, the person responsible for betraying him, so many twists and turns, but Lady Sabrina's tough love, kind care, and her growing feelings for this reborn man who softens her heart towards gentleman again (does she need a man?) as he values her for her and for herself, without guile, repairing her hurt heart and helping her 'live' again without fear, reprisals, and with hope for a future that isn't alone was a lovely read.

"Where the Stars Meet the Sea" by Heidi Kimball

Where the Stars Meet the Sea by Heidi Kimball Goodreads Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐  Romance, clean, period;  Juliet's story, and her romance with the Duke of Halstead, was a lovely, period romance.  As she stumbles in several encounters with the Duke, mainly as she seeks to escape notice of her overbearing, unkind Aunt, making mistakes with him, but with her genuine nature, and forthright manner open his heart to a chance of a future.  The moments were sweet, funny at times, and even as she questions the outcomes and worries, you can see his heart opening to her.  Some of the side characters were caricatures, a bit over done in some ways.  The conflict with her Aunt, pushing her cousin's suit and holding her brother's future over her as she tries to control how Juliet acts, and interacts with others made for a good contrast with Halstead's subtle observations and interactions.  Halstead's family, his mother, grandmother and sister and the conflicts and contrasts th

Her subsequent rescue by The Guardians has her running and trying to escape danger with Ghost/Nolan to try to keep her secrets safe and undercover who is involved and behind the murder of her sister and what is going to be done with the secrets she has uncovered.
